Arriving in Jelsa on the island of Hvar, Croatia

It's nice to be back.  After the gorgeous drive through Bosnia and to the Croatian coast, not to mention the 10 days of travel from Amsterdam, knowing that we would have 7 full days of relaxing and swimming on Hvar Island was a very welcome thought.  The red and white checkered flag waved over the port of Drvenik where the sun beat down on us for 3 hours while we waited to board the car ferry.  Luckily, the Adriatic sea spread out in front of us and accepted our legs and toes while we waited with our ice cream.  :-)

On the ferry.

Arriving in Jelsa, Hvar....

Just in time for a children's festival...  of some sort... kids wore disguises and had foot races while people dressed in German costumes sold beer and sausages.  We didn't know what was going on, but we joined on in!

Settling in with (from left): Uni. friend Tom, flatmates Terri & Naomi, me, Uni. friend Ana and facing away from us: our kids.  Missing is Nadja, Naomi's little girl, her partner Bojon, and Sven.  A contingent of 10!

Beautiful Jelsa.
